Feng Shui Tips For A Child’s Bedroom!

Feng Shui Tips For A Child’s Bedroom: Enhance Education, Success and Happy Relationships!

As your children are preparing to return to school, now is the time to set the stage for success. Creating open spaces will allow them focus on where they are going rather than where they were.

Applying Feng Shui to a child’s bedroom creates an inspiring environment that fosters enhanced education, success, and happy relationships with parents, siblings, and others.

However, before you apply the below Feng Shui enhancements to the bedrooms of your children, it’s important that you bring them into the process.

Start by discussing the benefits of a clutter-free, organized and inspiring bedroom environment; and then get their permission and full participation.

After that, work together to design short and long term plans for creating and maintaining an inspiring bedroom environment that will empower them to thrive in all aspects of life.

Here’s your action plan for this project:

1. Remove clutter. Partner with your children to support their efforts to clear jammed closets and drawers. Encourage them to remove toys, games, books and clothes no longer suitable for their age. To make this process simple and most effective, provide them with three boxes, 1) items for donation, 2) recycling and 3) trash. Creating space and visual openness helps your child sleep better and feel much more rested, which will lead them to be happier and more productive.

2. Teach organization skills and maintenance methods. Provide storage systems, a laundry basket and trash can so that children can easily organize and store items, without having to leave them on their beds, desk’s and floors. These simple and practical measures will inspire and motivate your children to keep their bedrooms clean, clutter-free and organized resulting in fewer chores for you!

3. Create an inspiring bedroom environment. Make sure there is adequate lighting in the bedroom. Also, bedrooms that are painted dark colors create too much oppressive energy. Bright colors, such as yellows, light greens, soft lavender and pinks are good energy and inspiring color choices.  Add inspiring and motivational posters and art to the child’s bedroom!

4. Bed choice and placement in the bedroom. Make sure your child can see the door from his or her bed easily, but is not in direct line of the door. Bunk beds are not optimal. Children must have room to grow and the bed overhead exerts pressure on the child below. Because there is empty space below them, children on the top bunk may feel less secure. If possible, try to have a separate bedroom for each child. If this isn’t possible, there are many decorative ways to create division and privacy within a room for each child.

5. Establish a space for study and accomplishments. Having a dedicated space, including a desk and lamp where your child can study demonstrates to your child the importance you place on education, your child’s success and achievement. Display awards, trophies, and tests with good scores in the child’s bedroom.

6. Praise your children often. Throughout the transformation process and afterward, praise your children often. The practice of this amplifying self-esteem gesture will make them feel good, loved and appreciated, and will also encourage and motivate them to maintain a clean, clutter-free, organized and inspiring bedroom environment for years to come.

7. Lead by example for your children. Children are like mirrors, reflecting everything that happens in their environment. The examples you set have a significant impact on their present and future development and aspirations. Keep your home environment, clean, clutter-free, organized and inspirational.

Have fun with your children and enjoy the process!

Love to share their beautiful testimonials:

Kathleen, Los Angles – ‘How many adjectives can i use? I feel so blessed to have met Ellie in Santa Cruz  during a business trip to the Bay Area. I loved the entire experience. She ensures that everything is a 5 star experience. Of course the location, FlipJack Ranch in Bonny Doon was sheer heaven! I loved every minute if the day! Her class is a must experience. The foods, wine, guests, locations, perfection!!!'

Jason, Watsonville– ‘In her classes Chef Ellie does not simply teach you how to follow a recipe. She shows you how to enjoy and have fun creating and preparing meal out of fabulous ingredients to share with family and friends.’

Amanda, Santa Cruz – ‘This was my second class with Chef Ellie and it was even better than the last one! The food was fabulous, but what really stood out to me were the topics of conversation. We mainly talked about love and relationships and how foods ties everything together. As the youngest person there by a few years at 22, I was able to learn from those with more life experience. Some had been cooking  for year and some had cooked only 5 times for themselves. Still, as we sat and drank wine with each other at the enormous redwood table, we shared cooking tips between the clinks our classes. I always have a lovely time, and would love to experience Chef Ellie's class once more.'

Kristy, San Jose – ‘What a great experience with amazing people, cooking and then enjoying yummy meal together. True communities!

Heidi, Santa Cruz – 'I loved how simple the food was to make. It was nice that people from all levels of cooking could enjoy the class. I'm not vegan, but the food was delicious! Thank you Chef Ellie.'

Boris, Aptos – 'The recipes and preparation techniques were great! Other people in the class were very pleasant. The appetizer and drink were great. The class was very well organized and nice. Thank you.'

Carol, Aptos – ' Great experience, foods & people. Enjoyed being involved in cooking experience, meeting new people. Learned some great tips. It was lovely to have food & drink as we communicated with each other. Thank you.'

Teri, Brookdale – Today, was a very joyful experience for me, cooking with everyone & loved the healthy vibe. I love FlipJack Ranch! It is a perfect place for learning, growing and loving all things food.

Simple & Practical Feng Shui Tips for a Home!

Feng Shui is often referred to as the art of placement. How you place your furniture, possessions and yourself within your environment largely determines your life experience at every level. It offers a unique way of looking at yourself and your environment, and it provides a way of bringing balance, harmony and Prosperity into your life!

Simply put, the path to living a more Joyful, Harmonious and Prosperous Life starts with a clutter-free, organized and mindfully (thoughtful and functional) designed Home Environment!

Get Started Today! Make your home Clutter-Free, Organized and Mindfully Designed by applying these simple, yet effective and powerful Feng Shui Enhancements:

1.    Declutter - Take a fresh look at your Home with an eye towards decluttering. Keep what’s essential and Let Go of any items that have no use or provide no benefit being there.

2.   Assess Your Possessions - Ask yourself when looking at an item:

Do I need it, use it or love it?
Does this fit me right now?
Have I worn this in the past six months?
Does it contribute to my happiness?
Does it bring me comfort and relaxation?
Does it inspire me?
Can I live without it?

3.   Let go of those items that don’t pass.

4.   Make it Simple – Use this tool:

5.    Replace artificial plants and flowers (stagnant energy) with energy purifiers such as colorful fresh plants, flowers and aromatic herbs.

6.   Remove broken furniture and objects from your home to eliminate negative energy flow.

7.    Organize - Put everything in its logical place and set up a Storage/Organization Systems that will effectively serve the needs of the members of your household, including your children.

8.    Add images and arts that represent Happiness, Harmony and Prosperity.

9.    Make the Entrance to your home Clutter-Free, Pleasant and Welcoming. In Feng Shui, the front door of a house is called "the mouth of Chi." When a house has plenty of good Chi coming in and the flow of energy is harmonious, the people living in the house experience heightened levels of Energy, Well-Being, Happiness and Prosperity.

Start by getting rid of cobwebs around your front door
Add pots of fresh plants with colorful flowers and a soft wind chime
Consider painting your front door with a bright color such as red, turquoise blue, purple or lavender; this will give it new life, refresh the energy, and welcome the Chi.

10.   Make it a Lifestyle. Cultivate Joy, Happiness and Harmony in your life by maintaining a Clutter-Free, Organized and Mindfully Designed Home!

Encourage, Embrace and Enjoy Change in your life! There's no room for adventure, excitement or personal growth when you stay in your comfort zone!
