Lily of the valley is the birth flower for the month of May and represents humility, sweetness, purity and is said to bring luck in love. It also means "the return of happiness" which is the reason why it is often used as decorations in weddings.
The delicate, fragrant flowers of lily of the valley typically appear in early to mid-spring, and the plants bloom three to four weeks. In mild, coastal climates, they bloom from March to April. Lily of the valley can be grown indoors as a potted plant to bloom out of season.
On May 1st, in France, Lily of the Valley flowers are given as a token of love and affection. This tradition started on May 1st, 1561, when King Charles IX of France was presented with a bunch of lily-of-the-valley flowers as a token of luck and prosperity.
Lily of the valley flowers are one my favorite flowers after lavender of course! No matter which flower you like, gift yourself with fresh flowers from your garden and potted flowers throughout your house. They generate good energy in your home and bring visual pleasure too!
